“What the roomful of executives saw upon the first screening was a shock—a slow and quiet semireligious, jazz-filled 25 minutes, voiced by a cast of inexperienced children, and, perhaps most unforgivably, without a laugh track. “They said, ‘We’ll play it once and that will be all. Good try,’ ” remembers Mendelson. “Bill and I thought we had ruined Charlie Brown forever when it was done. We kind of agreed with the network. One of the animators stood up in the back of the room—he had had a couple of drinks—and he said, ‘It’s going to run for a hundred years,’ and then fell down.” —The Lonely Tree: The Story of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’

After a lot of tentative months, Erica finally got me into Rdio.  I took the subscription plunge and I haven’t looked back since.

Apart from being so much cleaner/nicer than Spotify, I dig Rdio’s easy capacity for playlists.  I’m trying to archive/find every past mix I’ve done since college which is tough.  Here’s a current one though I use a lot when I’m concentrating on work.  I called it “euphoric concentration.”

This is an incredible mix of songs inspired, and kinda-ripped off by Paul Simon’s Graceland.  Full story and tracklist found on the Kleptone’s website: http://www.kleptones.com/blog/2012/06/28/hectic-city-15-paths-to-graceland/#.UJroDk1lQ3g (Thanks Nate!)
